The
ACMUA is governed by a five member Board of Directors who
establish ACMUA policy and plans to meet the current and future
water needs for our community. The members of the Board of
Directors are:
 MILTON
L. SMITHMilton L. Smith is the Chairman of the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA). He has served on the Board of Directors since February 2001. Mr. Smith graduated from the Camden Police Academy in 1960. He attended in service training at the State Police Academy in Sea Girt, New Jersey, receiving extensive training in crime solving, riot control, supervision, and other related subjects that would be effectively applied to his position. Mr. Smith has over twenty-seven (27) years of experience in the criminal system, as well as working and caring about the future of our youth by serving on the Juvenile Conference Committee. Mr. Smith retired as Chief of Police from the Borough of Penns Grove, NJ in 1987, where he served proudly to protect the citizens of New Jersey since 1960. He received various awards, recognitions and commendations for service and bravery in the line of duty. In addition, Mr. Smith served on the Casino Control Commission for three and a half (3 ½) years from 1987-1990. He was also a member of the Landlord Tenants’ Board. Mr. Smith currently resides in Atlantic City.  GARY
L. HILLIn February 2010, the Board elected Mr. Hill to serve as Vice Chairman/Secretary of the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA). He has served on the Board since February 2007. Born and raised in Reading, PA, he attended and received a Bachelors Degree, as well as Masters Degree, in Education at Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA. Mr. Hill was Board level of the American Federation of Teachers’ Union, Asst. Vice Principal for four (4) years, and mentor and consultant on Curriculum Planning. Mr. Hill relocated to Atlantic City in 1988. He is presently employed by John Schultz Associates as Public & Community Relations Coordinator for 1616 PR, as well as Executive Director and Community Relations of the Metropolitan Business & Citizens Association (MBCA), which is in its seventeen (17th) year of operation. Mr. Hill is also involved in numerous real estate and investment properties in Atlantic City. He is very active in various community/charitable events and fundraisers, including business, political and charitable agencies throughout our community. Mr. Hill sits on the Atlantic City Democratic Committee Board, Atlantic City First PAC Chairman Board, Borgata Jobs Training Board, Noyes Museum of Art Board, Atlantic City Day Nursery Board, Bacharach Hospital Foundation Board, Alcove Grieving Center Board, and Caring, Inc. Board, to name a few. Mr. Hill is Co-Founder of the Schultz-Hill Foundation (501-C.3), which supports the Arts/History and Education of Area Residents and Organizations through scholarships and donations, as well as grants to area artists/historians and organizations throughout South Jersey. formed in 1978, and served for five (5) years until January 1983.
Since age two, Mr. Edmund J. Colanzi has called Atlantic City
“Home”. He was educated in the City’s Catholic School
System, enlisted for a tour of duty in the United States Air
Force, during the Korean War, and later he attended Glassboro
State College to pursue a teaching profession. While at Glassboro,
Mr. Colanzi was a salaried Assistant J.V. College Basketball
Coach, Varsity Manager, President of the Philosophy Club and
Chairman of the Debating Team. Mr. Colanzi joined the City of
Atlantic City’s Tax Office in 1961. After receiving several
Civil Service promotions, he was appointed the City’s Assistant
Tax Collector. Simultaneously, he held a management position with
George Hamid Enterprises for ten (10) years and operated his own
Steel Pier business for
three
(3) years. Mr. Colanzi also established his own consulting
corporation in 1984, till the present, with a number of notable
area clients. In 1976, Mr. Colanzi was appointed, then elected, to
two (2) terms as a Commissioner of Atlantic City, until the change
of government on July 1, 1982. He was then made the first Director
of Transportation, under the Mayor-Council Government. Mr. Colanzi
returned to the Tax Office, until he went on early retirement in
1987. During those years, there were numerous achievements. Mr.
Colanzi established a financially successful Airport Utility &
International Airport. He has served on a score of Committees,
Boards and Organizations, including Governor’s Appointments. Mr.
Colanzi is confident that with the approval of the State
Administration and the DEP, the ACMUA is administratively and
staff qualified to maintain the water needs of Absecon and
Brigantine Islands, plus the Mainland Communities of Atlantic
County. Mr. Colanzi is married to his wife, Kathleen (Kay) for the
past thirty-eight years (38). They reside in Atlantic
City.

LEAIn February of 2009, William Lea was elected to serve as Board Member of the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA).

Harborfields operates under the auspices of the County of
Atlantic, Department of Public Safety and is managed, under
contract, by the State of New Jersey, Department of Law and Public
Safety, Juvenile Justice Commission. Harborfields is located on
Buffalo Avenue and Duerer Street in the City of Egg Harbor, New
Jersey. The Program serves male and female juveniles between the
ages of 12 and 18 awaiting court review for disposition, trial or
other court action. The facility has 8 secure beds for females and
19 secure beds for males.
